El Diablo

Finally just got El Diablo tuned and running tight and down the road! This darker than night XS650 was about a 6 month build start to finish. My customer Jack is a fabricator by trade, so he handled things until it got a little complicated and then passed the torch to me.
I finished up the fab on the fantastic Voodoo Vintage board tracker hardtail kit. My customer wanted airbag seating, so I had to get really tricky with one of TC Bros kits and I was able to keep the seat in line with the frame and the bags nice and hidden. My friend David Bright @debosfriend built the awesome springer setup that we mated to a Harley 21" spool setup built by Buchanan's. Rear wheel is a 48 spoke XS650 model respectively.
Once we had a roller, I was able to mount the gas tank, fender and make up the struts. I made the license plate mount, chain tensioners and battery/fuse box.
We were told the engine was a runner, but of course that was far from true. We ended up going through the stock bore 650 adding the general hop ups, aka electronic ignition and charging, shorty pipes from Pandemonium Choppers, fresh clutch setup and Mikuni VM34's set up from MMM.
All in all it was a pretty fun build. I named it El Diablo as it is blacker than night and it broke my foot. Seriously. Sucker kicked back and folded my toes into oblivion! The fun of tuning some days. Never thought I'd be excited about a black on black build, but I was able to break it up just enough to where I feel it works out.. What do you think????

what a long strange trip it's been.....

Whoa! Forgot I even had this blog. Stoked I do though... Since dipping off the Instagram, and only using the Facebook for keeping in touch with family and close friends, most my online buds figured I was dead... Nawwww.. alive and well. If you did follow me on the Insta, @idaho_chad you know what's up. But if not here's a quick pic teaser and I'll start dropping some more in depth blogs on certain builds I've done over the years. Peace, love and Whiskey throttle. -Idaho Chad
